Atwima Kwanwoma Community Bank PLC has posted a strong financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, with profit after tax rising to GH¢44.2 million, representing a 17.33 per cent growth.
The bank attributes the growth to prudent lending, efficient loan recovery and improved service delivery.
Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Bonsu Sekyere, said the profit growth is hinged on a deliberate strategy of lending to creditworthy clients and ensuring recovery.
"The bank is committed to providing value for its shareholders. And so we always put in strategies on how to ensure that we make the best use of the resources that we have. And so we give loans to people who we know, and we assess, to be creditworthy and can pay back. And that is one of the surest ways that any financial institution can increase its profitability. So we give loans, and we collect it back," he said.
Loans and advances recorded the biggest leap, surging by 75.30 per cent from GH¢102.2 million in 2024 to GH¢179.2 million in 2025.
Profit before tax grew from GH¢54.4 million to GH¢62.7 million, while total assets crossed the GH¢900 million mark, moving from GH¢722.8 million in 2024 to GH¢945.4 million in 2025, a 30.80 per cent growth.
Deposits grew by 28.68 per cent to GH¢762 million from GH¢592.1 million, while investments increased by 24.29 per cent to GH¢621.5 million.
At its 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Bank, Board Chairman, Kwame Kyei Kusi told shareholders the bank remained resilient, profitable and compliant despite a challenging economic environment.
In improving the Bank’s image, they have unveiled a new logo after 43 years, reflecting its evolution from a traditional rural bank into a resilient, digital and customer-centric community bank.
The rebranding is in compliance with Bank of Ghana's microfinance reforms, which require all rural banks to convert to community banks.
Atwima Kwanwoma has fully complied, now operating as Atwima Kwanwoma Community Bank PLC, and has met the revised minimum capital requirement of GH¢5 million, with its stated capital increasing to GH¢9.6 million.
On service delivery, Mr. Sekyere said investments in technology have reduced waiting times and improved convenience.
"We have introduced a mobile app as well as a USSD platform, *223#, that enables customers to do banking without stepping into the banking hall. And this is a way of decongesting the banking hall... Essentially, we are giving customers a 24/7 service, unlike the 8-hour service that we were doing before," he explained.
The Board has proposed a dividend of GH¢0.20 per share, amounting to GH¢5.31 million, subject to shareholder approval.
The bank also reported spending over GH¢296,000 on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives in health, education, agriculture and security, and was adjudged Innovative Rural Bank of the Year and Outstanding Rural Bank of the Year at separate industry awards in 2026.
The Board Chairman said the bank is well-positioned to leverage macroeconomic stability to grow profitably and remain a top community bank in the country.
