10pm, BBC Four “Every photo in this film was taken by Kwame Brathwaite or is of Kwame Brathwaite,” starts this brilliant documentary. And what photos! Over seven decades, the Harlem photographer captured shots that helped define the Black Is Beautiful movement – including pictures of big stars and daily African American life. Brathwaite’s family, along with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Gabrielle Union and Jesse Williams, help tell the story with his stunning archive. Hollie Richardson

8pm, Sky Arts By 1741, Handel needed a hit. As presenter soprano Danielle de Niese relates, he took a gamble on Susannah Cibber, a gifted singer whose career had been damaged by a sex scandal, and cast her in the first performance of Messiah. 9pm, BBC One “Can you live with it, Helen, all those secrets you’re carrying?” Sandra (Andi Osho) is set on exposing the cover-ups surrounding the collapsed trial for Gerry’s murder.
