Elevate Africa has called for stronger connections between the continent’s resources, capital, leadership and opportunities to accelerate development and translate Africa’s potential into tangible results.

The call was made at a press conference in Accra ahead of the Elevate Africa Annual Convening 2026, which will be held under the theme “Africa: Defining Her Future.”

Co-founder of Elevate Africa, Her Majesty Olori Atuwatsé III, said the continent already had solutions to many of its challenges but needed greater confidence in its ability to implement them.

“Africa doesn't lack solutions. What we lack is the conviction and the confidence in the solutions that we already have,” she said.

She said the organisation was working to promote African-led solutions, bring leaders and creators together, and develop talent through its fellowship programme.

Elevate Africa Chief Partnership Officer, Dr Rex Idaminabo, said the continent needed to strengthen the links between its existing resources and the capital, leadership and opportunities required to turn its potential into practical outcomes.

“Africa does not lack potential. What Africa needs are stronger connections between its resources, capital, leadership, and opportunities,” he said.

The organisation is positioning its annual convening as a platform for bringing together people and institutions to discuss how African resources, ideas and talent can be mobilised to shape the continent’s future.

The 2026 edition will be held under the theme “Africa: Defining Her Future.”
