The third meeting of the Tamil Nadu Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, is scheduled to be held at the Secretariat in Chennai on October 29, 2026 (Thursday) during which several key policy decisions are expected to be taken.

According to official sources, the meeting will commence at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday. The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues are expected to discuss and approve some key industrial and investment proposals. The Cabinet is also likely to deliberate on new legislation and amendments to existing laws, as the next session of the Assembly is expected to be held before the end of this year.

Sources indicated that key proposals, particularly those relating to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), are likely to be taken up at the meeting. The Cabinet is also expected to deliberate on implementing new welfare schemes outlined in the ‘Vetri Tamizhagam Vision Document,’ and some ongoing infrastructure projects, among others.

At its first meeting on June 5, the Cabinet headed by Mr. Vijay approved 436 vision statements under the ‘Vetri Tamizhagam Vision Document,’ encompassing several poll promises made by the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Mr. Vijay chaired the second Cabinet meeting on July 16, ahead of the presentation of the 2026-27 Tamil Nadu Budget.
