BEd students urge Kuvempu University to expedite exam process so that they can apply for teacher recruitment

BEd students of colleges affiliated with Kuvempu University meeting Vice-Chancellor Sharath Ananthamurthy at the university campus in Jnana Sahyadri on Tuesday.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) course in colleges affiliated with Kuvempu University have appealed to Vice-Chancellor Sharath Ananthamurthy to conduct the final semester examinations and declare the results at the earliest so that they can apply for the government’s teacher recruitment drive.

A group of students met Prof. Ananthamurthy at the university campus in Jnana Sahyadri on Tuesday and submitted a memorandum. They said the government had initiated the recruitment of 15,000 high school teachers and that around 600 students from affiliated colleges would miss the opportunity if the examinations were not conducted early.

The students said the BEd academic calendar had been delayed owing to the late admission process. Having taken up the course to become teachers, they urged the university to announce the third-semester results at the earliest and complete the fourth-semester examinations and results before November 10. The last date for submitting applications for the recruitment is November 16.

The delegation comprised students from SJB BEd College in Sagar and Kumudvathi BEd College in Shikaripur. It was led by Arpitha, Soundarya, Punith, Ankitha, Shashank and Sneha, among others.

The students have also submitted a memorandum to Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa.
