Hasanamba festival to begin on Thursday

Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple from Friday.

The doors of the historic Hasanamba Temple will be opened on Thursday, marking the beginning of the Hasanamba festival. The temple doors are opened to devotees only during this festival, and the event therefore attracts large crowds from different parts of the State and outside.

The Hassan district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the event. The public will not be allowed to enter the temple on the first day, Thursday. Devotees will be admitted from Friday onwards. The festival will conclude on November 11, when the temple doors will be closed.

The district administration has fixed the time between 10.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. every day for VIPs with protocol. Dignitaries have been requested to reach the Inspection Bungalow half an hour in advance, from where they will be taken to the temple in a designated vehicle.

Excise Minister K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, who is also the district in-charge Minister, has held several meetings with officers on the preparations. Deputy Commissioner K.S. Latha Kumari, Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita and other officers are monitoring the arrangements.

Conversation with Stephen was always like that: utterly intense, totally opinionated, with the feeling that the spirits he was talking about, whether performers or composers from Chopin to Beethoven to Brahms to Mozart to Bach, were in the room with you, conjured into being as real, passionate people and presences.
