Participating in a flag march, Subbarayudu urges them to stay aware of the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and work as per the Model Code of Conduct

Police personnel take out a flag march ahead of the local body elections, in Tirupati on Wednesday.

The Tirupati district police took out a flag march to remove fear and instil confidence among the public ahead of the ensuing local body elections.

Comprising of members from the special party, armed reserve, local police, commandos, special task force, and led by the Superintendent of Police (SP) L. Subbarayudu, the march started at the Mahatma Gandhi Municipal Corporation High School in Bairagipatteda, passed through Lakshmipuram Circle and ended at Postal Colony.

Mr. Subbarayudu instructed the staff to remain vigilant to malpractices by the candidates in fray, especially in sensitive and violence-prone polling booths, and prevent them to ensure a free and fair conduct of the elections.

“Stay aware of the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and work as per the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in vogue to let every voter exercise his franchise,” the SP said.

The department is judiciously using the available manpower for the municipal, MPTC/ZPTC and sarpanch elections, he explained to the media later.
