The Asankragwa Divisional Police Command has dismissed 10 reported cases of suspected missing manhood in its operational area as false, following medical examinations that confirmed the alleged victims’ genitalia were intact and medically normal. The Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Vitus Napen, disclosed this at a press briefing in Asankragwa on Monday, October 26, 2026.

The briefing was attended by the District Police Commander, Superintendent James Ankan, and the Divisional Crime Officer, John Kwakye. Chief Superintendent Napen said the first case was reported at Wassa Dunkwa on October 17, 2026, and the division had since recorded 10 such cases. According to him, the complainants alleged that their genitalia disappeared after coming into physical contact with other people.

Wassa Dunkwa recorded six cases, Asankragwa two, Aboi Nkwanta one and Breman one. The Divisional Commander said all the complainants were referred for medical examinations, which established that their genitalia were intact and medically normal. He added that preliminary investigations suggested that panic, anxiety and misinformation had contributed to the spread of the allegations.

Chief Superintendent Napen cautioned the public against raising false alarms about alleged missing genitalia, warning that such actions could have legal consequences. He said individuals found culpable could face prosecution for offences relating to the publication of false news and deceiving a public officer. Mob vandalises police vehicle at Breman On the incident at Breman, Chief Superintendent Napen said a mob attacked and vandalised a police patrol vehicle when officers arrived to rescue a suspect accused of causing the disappearance of a man’s genitalia.

He said the mob smashed the vehicle’s rear windscreen in an attempt to lynch the suspect. He condemned the incident, describing it as criminal, and warned that anyone who attacked security personnel or destroyed state property would be arrested and prosecuted. He urged the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands and allow the police to investigate such allegations.

He also appealed to chiefs, opinion leaders and assembly members in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality to intensify public education and encourage residents to report suspected criminal activities to the police for proper investigation. The Divisional Commander said no arrests had been made in connection with the vandalism as of the time of the briefing, adding that investigations were ongoing to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
