By Adegboyega Adeleye The daughters of late Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, say they plan to pursue careers in the film industry and continue their father’s legacy. Taiwo Halima Olamide, known as Lima Ogogo, and her sister, Shakirat Taiwo, popularly called Kira Ogogo, announced their plans in an appreciation video shared on social media on Wednesday, October 21.

The sisters also thanked Nigerians and members of the entertainment industry for supporting their family following their father’s death. “You guys loved our daddy so much. This is an appreciation video to tell you people thank you,” they said. Lima, speaking on behalf of the family, added: “On behalf of my family and I, we want to say thank you very much to everybody who stood by us.” The sisters acknowledged support from several public figures, including Honourable Tayo Ayinde, the First Lady, the Ogun State governor, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and the Olu of Ilaro.

They also thanked those who sent messages of condolence during the family’s period of mourning. They said their entry into Nollywood would be a lasting commitment, rather than a one-off tribute to their father. “We are going to start seeing Ogogo through my sister Kira Ogogo. We are coming to the industry, and we’re here to stay,” Lima said. The sisters urged fans who enjoyed Ogogo’s films to support their upcoming projects by watching and sharing their content, particularly on Kira Ogogo’s YouTube channel, KiraOgogoTV.

Ogogo, a prominent figure in Yoruba cinema, died on August 23, 2026, aged 66. He was buried the following day in Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites. His death drew tributes from Nollywood colleagues and admirers.
