Cyberabad Police plan one-way loop to ease IT corridor traffic

Police to conduct traffic simulations and stakeholder consultations before phased implementation of proposed loop system

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, senior traffic police officers and SCSC CEO Naveed Khan, along with their teams, during an on-ground walkthrough of the proposed route.

The Cyberabad Traffic Police are planning a continuous one-way loop between Biodiversity Junction and Knowledge City to ease peak-hour traffic congestion in the IT corridor. The proposal, being worked out in coordination with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), is aimed at addressing four key bottleneck junctions between Biodiversity and Knowledge City.

Under the proposed system, traffic would move in a continuous loop starting from Biodiversity Junction and proceeding through IKEA Rotary, Raheja Mindspace (C-Gate), Knowledge City and Dallas Center. The route would then take a right turn at My Home Bhooja before connecting back to Biodiversity Junction.

According to the plan, the entire width of the carriageways would be utilised to reduce delays at junctions and facilitate uninterrupted movement of vehicles along the corridor.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sunpreet Singh, senior traffic police officers and SCSC CEO Naveed Khan, along with their teams, conducted an on-ground walkthrough of the proposed route on Wednesday to assess the existing road infrastructure and junction-level challenges.

Detailed traffic simulation trials will be conducted in the coming days to assess vehicular speeds and traffic density under the proposed system. The police will also hold coordination meetings with IT companies, business establishments and other local stakeholders to seek their suggestions and feedback.

Commissioner Ramesh said the one-way loop would be introduced in a phased manner only after considering stakeholder feedback and finalising the execution plan. He said comprehensive traffic advisories and details of route diversions would be issued well in advance to commuters before implementation.
