Former Public Relations Officer of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG-National), Solomon Ametor, has been elected Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu North Constituency.

Ametor secured 601 votes to win the position in the party’s 2026 constituency elections.

He defeated three other contenders — John Dordoe, who polled 400 votes; David Kwabla Amegayie, who secured 164 votes; and Michael Doe Kporfor, who obtained 168 votes.

Before he was elected NDC Deputy Secretary, Mr Ametor served as the PRO of GRASAG-National, representing and communicating the interests of graduate students at the national level. GRASAG’s official website identified him in that capacity in a May 2026 notice for the association’s national handing-over ceremony.

His election forms part of the new NDC constituency executive team expected to oversee the party’s activities and mobilisation in Ketu North.

Godwin Kwasi Tovor was elected Constituency Chairman after polling 818 votes against Stephen Akpabli’s 512 votes. Kodzo Bright also won the Vice Chairman position with 561 votes, while Daniel Cudjoe Esime Kporha was elected Secretary unopposed.

The constituency elections were held as part of the NDC’s 2026 internal elections to select executives to lead the party at the grassroots level.
