People shunned Jagan’s intimidation tactics: Minister

Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that the people had taught a fitting lesson to YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy by shunning his acts of intimidation.

Speaking to the media at Punganur on Thursday, the Minister said that Mr. Jagan’s aggressive political style and confrontational attitude would not work in a democracy. “One should win votes through actual democratic groundwork instead of muscle-flexing. People folded Jagan right up after he went around threatening to roll up his shirt sleeves,” Mr. Janardhan Reddy quipped, referring to the opposition leader’s remarks.

Earlier, the Minister handed out the election certificates to the ruling alliance’s councillors, who were declared elected unopposed in Punganur municipality.

The Minister urged local voters to push for a major political reset in the constituency and to throw their support behind NDA candidates in the upcoming MPTC and ZPTC elections. He highlighted that the younger generation was hungry for genuine progress, better jobs, and upgraded infrastructure.

Mr. Janardhan Reddy alleged that despite having a grip on Punganur for a long time, YSRCP MLA and former Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy neglected basic rural development and local panchayat systems, which took a major backseat during the previous administration.

He reiterated that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu regime was fully focused on fixing village roads, securing clean drinking water, and upgrading day-to-day civic facilities for everyone.
