Three missing fishermen rescued

Three fishermen from Chollangipeta in Tallarevu mandal in Kakinada district, who went missing after their boat capsized at sea on Tuesday, were rescued by rescue teams.

After their boat capsized, the three managed to swim to Hope Island where they got stranded among the vegetation.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Fisheries Department, the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS), and disaster management agencies immediately launched a search and rescue operation.

Using 10 boats, the teams located the fishermen on Thursday and brought them safely back to the shore.

Officials said that such incidents occur when warnings issued to avoid venturing out to sea for fishing due severe weather conditions are ignored. Officials urged fishermen to strictly follow government warnings for their own safety.
