The State government has launched a new enrolment portal for ‘NoRKA Care’, a comprehensive health and accident insurance scheme for Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs), for the 2026-27 period.

Existing members can renew their policies, while new applicants can register for the scheme until November 30, 2026, according to a statement from NoRKA Roots. The web portal and the updated mobile application allow NRKs from anywhere in the world to enrol in the scheme and access its services online.

Moving beyond the previous single coverage limit of ₹5 lakh, NoRKA Care now offers eight distinct coverage slabs: ₹3 lakh, ₹5 lakh, ₹10 lakh, ₹15 lakh, ₹20 lakh, ₹25 lakh, ₹50 lakh, and ₹1 crore. For policies starting from the ₹3 lakh slab, it is possible to include the Non-Resident Keralite, their spouse, and their parents (up to the age of 110). A key feature is that coverage for pre-existing medical conditions is provided from the very first day (valid only within India). The scheme is open to expatriates aged between 18 and 70 who hold a NoRKA Pravasi ID, Student ID, or NRK ID card. The premium amount is calculated based on the policyholder’s age.

A digital platform offers various facilities, including online enrolment, e-card downloads, access to payment receipts, reimbursement claim forms, a list of cashless hospitals, real-time claim status tracking, and the ability to update family member details. The app also provides access to health and wellness services, such as doctor consultations, laboratory tests, pharmacy services, and a wellness store. Users can raise support tickets or request a callback if assistance is needed.

Additionally, the platform includes an SOS feature to share one’s live location during emergencies, as well as an option to request ambulance services. For queries related to NoRKA Care or assistance with claims, the public may contact the toll-free numbers from within India, available 24 hours a day in Malayalam, English, and Hindi: 1860 4191 401, 1860 4191 402. For members residing abroad, an in-app calling feature is available via the mobile app on working days, from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (Indian Standard Time).
