Operatives of the Akwa Ibom Police Command have arrested two Ekpo masquerades, participants, for allegedly terrorising members of the public and extorting money from them. The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Azare, reiterated that the Command will not tolerate the use of cultural practices or masquerade activities as a cover for criminality, intimidation, extortion or violence against members of the public.

NAIROBI, Kenya Oct 29 – Police in Nairobi have arrested a suspect linked to a string of robberies in which unsuspecting victims are ambushed after withdrawing cash from banks. Detectives pursued the leads until intelligence pinpointed the suspect in Embakasi Village, where he was subsequently arrested.
Announcing the arrest on Thursday, the Chairman of the Task Force, Muhuyi Magaji, confirmed that the suspect has been extradited to Kano to face prosecution.
