Russian troops fighting in Ukraine must be able to have their sperm frozen for free, it has been claimed.

Top lawyer Igor Trunov said the move responds to a call for a free cryobank, as well as medical insurance changes.

This comes after President Vladimir Putin mobilized 300,000 reservists in September to help bolster his stuttering invasion of the neighboring country.

According to reports, many of those who were conscripted began approaching clinics to store their sperm before being sent to the battlefield.

Russian Lawyers Union Chairman Trunov tweeted that his organization is applying on behalf of many affected couples.

The Kremlin Ministry of Health has yet to confirm its claims.
