A new "A" terrorizes a new group of liars in "Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin". Starring Bailee Madison (Imogen), Malia Pyles (Minnie), Maia Reficco (Noa), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), and Zaria (Faran), HBO Max's next show is set miles from Rosewood in another fictional Pennsylvania hamlet and comes years after a "series of tragic events nearly tore the working town of Millwood apart".

"It's not really a sequel to any specific story or character, it's a complete re-imagining of the existing universe," Reficco told POPSUGAR, referring to the original series. "Pretty Little Liars" Freeform, which ended in 2017. "It also lives in a slasher horror world, so that completely changes the look and feel...it has its own DNA."

Even though the series stands on its own, Madison assures that it "has all the same elements that were so addicting about the original." The only difference is that this new chapter takes "the most serious and darkest turn yet for 'PLL'". She adds, "We don't hold back at all with our show."

The official trailer was released on July 6, and it looks like no one is safe from 'A'. "The town of Millwood is in much more imminent danger than people realize. Madison echoed the sentiments, adding, "'A' is incredibly fierce and vicious and will stop at nothing to accomplish any task. come into play, because in The Spirit of "A", everything makes sense and it's worth it at the end of the day. I think that's really what's so terrifying is that 'there is no human remorse when it comes to what our 'A' is willing to do."

Reficco admits she's also afraid of "A." She says: "There are such terrifying things about 'A' in terms of the twist [they] can really ruin your life in ways you couldn't even imagine. It's so much more than just a kick of a knife, which obviously sucks, but I think the balance is what terrified me the most." Pyles notes: "Audiences will definitely be on a roller coaster ride. There are a lot of red herrings. There are a lot of fakes...
