Trevor Noah got confused with The Weeknd during a basketball game: 'Take aim'

Trevor Noah had to correct a so-called fan for insisting he was The Weeknd.

The 'Daily Show' host had to correct the fan that he wasn't actually the 'Often' singer, and recalled the story during an appearance on the show "Today".

"This guy walks up to me in the stands, and he's with his wife, and he's like, 'Hey man, can I take a picture?'" Noah said. "And I was like, 'Oh, yeah, uh, okay.' Then he said, 'You're The Weekend, right?'"

The comedian continued, "I said, 'No, I'm not The Weekend.' And he said, 'No, you're The Weeknd.' I said, 'I'm not The Weeknd. Weekend, sir. "So we don't need to take that picture, then." And he said, "You're lying.""

Noah added that the fan walked away saying "confidently" to his wife, "He's lying. I know The Weeknd when I see him. I know it's him.'"

Noah joked, "I should have said, 'I'm The Weeknd and fuck you, I'm not taking a picture.'"

As Noah leaves his Comedy Central talk show, The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye makes his television debut with the upcoming HBO Max series “The Idol.” A24 and "Euphoria" showrunner Sam Levinson are producing the show alongside Tesfaye, who also stars with Lily-Rose Depp in the sultry series.

And Noah and Tesfaye aren't the only two stars who are often confused: 'Wednesday' actor Luis Guzmán recently revealed that he was supposed to be the late star Rick Aviles for decades.

"On this day, you and I could walk through an airport, a mall - today - and someone would say, 'Why did you kill Patrick Swayze? What was it like working with Whoopi [ Goldberg]?” Guzmán said during the “Ghost” alum’s “The Rich Eisen Show.” "If I had a dime all along, I'd probably own this studio, an island, and a few private planes. I swear."

Guzman shared, "I was in Detroit once, changing planes, and a 90-year-old woman walked up to me, 'Oh my god. I loved you in "Ghost". "I felt so bad and explained, 'No, no. It was someone else. And then she goes, 'So what could I have seen you in? "And I'm like, 'Have you ever seen 'The Count of Monte Cristo'?" It was such a good movie!" And I said, "Well, I was Jacopo." And then she said, "No, you weren't in it!"

He added, "From then on, I said, 'I'll always be the 'Ghost' guy.'"

The comedian talks about his upcoming Netflix comedy special "I Wish You Would", the reason for his departure from "The Daily Show", and even shares a hilarious experience in which he was mistaken for The Weeknd.
