Gwyneth Paltrow reveals when she would start smoking again
During an appearance on the Jan. 6 episode of Amy Poehler’s “The Good Hang Podcast,” the “Marty Supreme” actress took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, remembering her once-beloved habit.
Paltrow admitted that she always enjoyed cigarettes, even though they contradicted the wellness-focused image she’s built over the years. She revealed that the thought of indulging again crossed her mind before sharing when she would finally give in.
“You know, I decided that when I was 87, I was going to start smoking again,” Paltrow told the host. Poehler laughed and reminisced about their early 2000s, noting that Paltrow was the first person she heard say the word “macrobiotic.”

Gwyneth Paltrow on the last time she smoked

Paltrow’s confession comes about four months after she revealed the last time she smoked a cigarette. The wellness entrepreneur shared that it was the night of her wedding to Brad Falchuk in 2018, a memory she remembers well.
Paltrow recalled the moment, telling Vogue, “We were going through our paperwork, and I got life insurance, and she said if something happened to me and they found out I’d smoked a cigarette, it would cancel the whole thing.”
She then explained why she never picked up the habit again. “Because I am so [personality type] Enneagram 1, which says “integrity is everything”, I never smoked again. But I miss it,” Paltrow confessed.

‘Glee’ Star Opens Up About Split From Ex-Husband Chris Martin
Beyond smoking, Paltrow also opened up about her personal life during the podcast, including the aftermath of her divorce from Chris Martin.
As The Blast reported, the mother of two said the public reaction to their split ultimately cost her a movie role, explaining that producers were reluctant to take on what they perceived as drama.
The Iron Man star reflected on the controversial phrase “conscious uncoupling,” which she and Martin used to describe their split. She defended the intention behind the term, explaining that it was intended to promote a healthier, more respectful way of separating.
While she understands why it struck a chord, she stressed that she has no regrets about choosing a path centered on peace and mutual respect.

Gwyneth Paltrow opens up about her anxiety about living in the public eye
Although this chapter of her life has faced intense scrutiny, Paltrow is no stranger to public criticism. In November last year, she spoke openly about the emotional toll it had taken on her.
The ‘Emma’ actress revealed that for the first time, she is now dealing with anxiety issues, which she attributes to hormonal changes. According to The Blast, Paltrow explained that estrogen dominance made her “really anxious,” a condition made worse by the pressures of fame.
She shared that public opinion affects her deeply, often leaving her waking up in the morning “filled with dread,” adding that even minor things, like a negative email about her brand, can hit her hard.
How Gwyneth Paltrow responded to negative rumors about Goop and her image
When rumors surfaced last year claiming her wellness brand was a toxic workplace, Paltrow was quick to shut them down.
As The Blast reported at the time, the TV star denied the allegations, making it clear that such allegations troubled her. “We never had that,” she said.
She went on to describe her company as one with a “good culture,” which she intentionally worked hard to build. Paltrow highlighted the brand’s Santa Monica office, saying it reflects the positive environment.
Another long-standing public perception that Paltrow has recently pushed back against is the narrative that she is “the ice queen of Hollywood.”
