Charlie Kirk User missions depicting an assassination snatched by “GTA”

Charlie KirkThe assassination inspired some sick users to create online missions depicting the tragic shooting in “Grand Theft Auto Online”… but, the game’s parent company says the scenarios are now banned.
Here’s the deal… videos recently surfaced on social media showing a mission titled “We are Charlie Kirk” in which the player grabs a sniper rifle and shoots an NPC standing under an awning on the campus of the University of San Andreas, Los Santos.
This is a parody of Charlie’s appearance at Utah Valley University in Orem, UT in September… when he was shot and killed.
We contacted Rockstar – the company that owns and runs “GTA” – and they tell us that missions mimicking the horrific tragedy began appearing shortly after the release of a new online user feature.
These missions were reported to the Trust and Safety team and were removed quickly, we’re told. However, the company says the recordings are now circulating after some users recently noticed that “Charlie Kirk” had been added to Rockstar’s online profanity list… which is more of a filter to stop people from imitating horrific real-world events.
As you know…Kirk’s shooting was a traumatic moment for many…especially for those on the right side of the aisle. A Reuters A report, released in November, found that 600 people had been fired, suspended or furloughed from their jobs for posting about Kirk following his death.
It’s unclear if these social media users plan to track down whoever created these missions… but Rockstar has made it clear that this is unacceptable.
