Bestselling Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Writer Expands New Horror Movie Deal

Lyrical and comic media icon James Tyyion IV production the Tiny Onion company join forces on two new horror films inspired by the latter’s work.

The collaboration will adapt its comic series Exquisite corpses. He will also develop a feature film version of his one-shot, Room servicewhich already has a short film adaptation released in 2024.

In statements first published by DeadlineTynion and Lyrical Media CEO Alexander Black expressed their excitement about working together. Black praised his work. Since moving away from mainstream comics, the author, known for his horror and science fiction endeavors, has enjoyed a lot of success. He has received rave reviews for several of his independent series under independent publishers such as Image Comics. The designer also has 5 Eisner Awards to his credit.

Exquisite Corpses is a horror comic series that follows a deadly competition held every five years. Twelve of America’s most talented killers, sponsored by wealthy families, are released into a small town where they are forced to fight until only one survivor remains. The family the winner works for will take control of the country for the next five years. Tynion co-created the series with Michael Walsh.

Black states that Tynion’s work reshaped the horror genre. And thanks to Tiny Onion, he’s expanding these stories to film and television. He explained that he admired his commitment to his craft and how he stayed true to his vision. He added that he is more than happy with their partnership and can’t wait to bring these next two films to life.

Exquisite corpses And Room service Aren’t the only comic book-inspired projects Lyrical Media is working on. The next film from the production studio on Marvel Comics X-Men character, Onslaught (created by writers Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid and artist Andy Kubert), is currently in post-production.
