Denis Hamlin speaks out after dad’s tragic death

NASCAR driver Denis Hamlin speaks for the first time since his father, Denis Hamlindied in the fire at the house belonging to Denny.
In a social media post On Wednesday, Denny said… “Thank you to everyone who offered their condolences on the passing of my father.”
Denis’s mother, Mary Louwas also home when the fire broke out and was hospitalized with serious injuries…but it appears she is making progress in her recovery.
Denny says, “My mother continues to improve and our family truly appreciates the outpouring of support and respect for our privacy during this time.”
Gaston County, North Carolina, Fire and Emergency Management Services said they and several other fire departments were dispatched at 6:19 p.m. Sunday to a two-story home that was engulfed in flames.
Authorities said Dennis and Mary Lou were found outside the residence and “both suffered catastrophic injuries while escaping the flames.”
Dennis finally died in hospitaland Mary Lou was transferred to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Burn Center in Winston-Salem.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
