Following the report, fans rallied to raise more than $100,000 for Mickey Rourke, who rejected the six-figure donation in a scathing online video, calling the decision “embarrassing” and “humiliating.”

TMZ shared a new report on the “Wrestler” actor, revealing that his dog, Ivan, will need expensive surgery. The cost would be $10,000, and Ivan may need a second surgery costing between $6,000 and $8,000.

The publication says the news is just the latest financial burden Rourke has faced in recent weeks, as the outspoken public figure faced eviction from her West Hollywood home after reportedly losing nearly $60,000 in rent.

According to The Blast, Rourke’s landlord, Eric Goldie, served documents to the actor in December 2025. Legal documents revealed that Rourke began renting the California property in March 2025 for $5,200 per month; however, the rent increased to $7,000 months later.

News of Rourke’s financial struggles struck a chord with fans, who rallied to donate to the “Celebrity Big Brother” contestant’s GoFundMe, set up by his management team.

“This fundraiser is created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing expenses and prevent this from happening,” the campaign description reads. “Mickey Rourke is an icon, but his journey, as painful as it was, is also deeply human. It’s the story of someone who gave everything for his work, took real risks and paid real costs.”

It didn’t take long for Rourke to respond to the stories about him. In a scathing video, according to The Blast, Rourke condemned the GoFundMe effort and assured his fans that he would not ask them for money. “It’s not me, okay?” he said. “I’d rather, if I needed money, not ask for any fucking handouts. I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.”

Rourke spokesperson Kimberly Hines came forward shortly after the video was made public and took responsibility for the fundraising. Hines explained that the GoFundMe was created with Rourke’s consent and was intended to help the struggling actor get back on his feet.

“We said, ‘Mickey, there are people who want to help you.’ He says, “Okay, great. “I don’t think he understood, and now, in the face of this media frenzy, he lost his temper,” Hines said. “No one’s trying to scam Mickey. I want him to work. I don’t want him to do a GoFundMe.”

Hines said she has helped Rourke financially since the news became public; however, she hinted that financial support would eventually end. “He should probably get this help, because unless he goes back to work, I will only be able to fund him for a limited period of time. I’m not a Getty. I’m a working woman,” she said.

In a January 15 Instagram post, Rourke expressed his hope of reimbursing the “concerned parties” who donated to the “scam to raise money for me!!” Rourke called the campaign a “cruel embarrassment.”

Rourke said he was working with his lawyer to return people’s money. “In truth, there is still over $90,000 to be refunded to the affected parties who sent their money,” he shared. “Please get your money back. The person who did this shit shouldn’t get a… dollar.”

Rourke was offered an acting job in an independent film

The Blast reported that independent director Eric Spade Rivas offered Rourke $1,000 to make an appearance in his upcoming spin-off “Scarface” after learning of the actor’s financial struggles. A source shared that Rourke’s appearance would only last 2 minutes and would not require much effort from the 73-year-old.

Another report from The Blast stated that Rourke had been offered “at least six” different acting roles over the past week, all of which he reportedly turned down. A source said Rourke was only interested in taking on roles paying six-figure rates.
