Jameela Jamil doesn’t take back her words about Blake Lively

Jameela Jamil appears to be hitting back at critics who think her feminist credentials should be questioned after newly unsealed court documents showed she used inflammatory words to describe Blake Lively amid her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
In the text exchange with Jennifer Abel, a publicist who represented her and Baldoni, Jamil took issue with the tone Lively used during press conferences for “It Ends With Us.”
“She’s a suicide bomber at this point.” Jamil wrote in part, by The explosion. “I’ve never seen such a weird villain behave like this before.”
Although she didn’t name the “Gossip Girl” actress, she came to her defense, saying that being a feminist doesn’t mean she can’t call out the women she wants.

Jameela Jamil says she can ‘fight’ with other women and still be a feminist
The “Love at First Sight” actress went even further, explaining that her version of feminism allows her to “fight with other women” and can even “criticize them” or do “whatever you want.”
“[Feminism] That doesn’t mean you have to be friends with every woman, it means you can actually fight with other women,” she said.
Jamil continued, “You can criticize them, you can do whatever you want, as long as you also fight for their human right to the same things that men have in this world. That’s what feminism is all about. It’s a moral and political position, it’s not a sleepover where we braid our pubes. Okay?”

“So if you fight for women’s rights but you don’t get along with all women, that doesn’t make you a bad feminist. You’re still a feminist; keep fighting for those rights and thank you for fighting for those rights,” Jamil added.

Texts from Blake Lively’s friend Taylor Swift blasting Justin Baldoni were also exposed
Meanwhile, Jamil isn’t the only celebrity whose text conversation about Lively and Baldoni’s situation was published.
Lively’s longtime friend and popstar Taylor Swift sparked backlash online after a recently released court document showed she called Baldoni a “slut.”
In December 2024, the “Bad Blood” singer sent Lively a screenshot of an article in which the actor claimed he had been sexually traumatized by an ex.
She wrote: “I think this bitch knows something is coming because he brought out his little violin.”
Lively responded by saying the article “sounds different” when it doesn’t acknowledge how she stopped his alleged sexual advances during their time on set.

During their conversation, Lively shared her disbelief that Baldoni would be honored at a women’s event, before she and Swift lamented how predators feel like they’ll “always get away with it.”
Also in April 2023, Lively apparently used Swift’s help to pressure Baldoni as she asked the chart-topping singer to show excitement over her decision.
They then held a meeting in his New York apartment, after which Lively simply could not contain her joy.
“You were incredibly heroic today… You make up shit about me and lentils. And you think of yourself as my doll. This clown is falling for it all,” the actress said.

Justin Baldoni might be looking for a way to settle down
Lawyers for Lively and Baldoni appeared in court Thursday to try to determine whether it was possible for them to reach a settlement without going to trial.
“This is a case of making a film, with very charged romantic and sexual themes,” Baldoni’s lawyer Jonathan Bach said, according to People Magazine. “The book called for sexy scenes.”
“It’s not enough to show that gender or sexuality has found a place in the workplace,” Bach said. “The onus is on them to show that not only did this practice enter the workplace, but it was used to discriminate against women.”
Lively’s lawyer, Esra Hudson, countered, saying the behaviors are consistently “inappropriate and cross the line.”
