- Walmart’s clearance aisle has been seeing some serious bargains lately
- A Redditor bought an RTX 5080 for just $562, 44% off
- RTX 5070 GPUs with 30% off were also seen, in addition to previous yellow sticker discounts in the clearance aisle.
We’ve seen discounted Nvidia GPUs with their prices well and truly reduced once again at Walmart in the US, proving that the retailer’s clearance aisle is worth checking out for potential bargains.
Tom’s Hardware noticed that a Redditor posted about purchasing a PNY GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card for $562, a model that has a recommended price of $999, almost half the price.
Later in the same thread, another poster points out several RTX 5070 GPUs – again from PNY – that received a nearly one-third discount from Walmart, reduced to $439 (from $630).
These appear to be genuine purchases, although there was an incident of AI tampering in this thread, as Tom’s clarifies in an update to its story.
Plus, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen amazing deals with Yellow Sticker discounts under Walmart’s CVP (Customer Value Program). Typically, these stickers are applied to customer returns in the process of resale or to merchandise with damaged packaging or other imperfections.
In October 2025, a PNY RTX 5090 was purchased by a Redditor who paid just $1,200 for the privilege, another incredible deal (which Tom’s Hardware picked up again at the time).
Analysis: It looks like luck is possible at Walmart – but there are caveats too
Considering that GPU prices are currently skyrocketing – especially for high-end Nvidia graphics cards – these are truly eye-opening deals. Getting an RTX 5080 for no more than $500 will probably be the GPU deal of the year, I’d bet.
One thing to note, however, is that another Redditor points out that they purchased a PNY RTX 5090 at MSRP – an achievement in itself, these days, given that these GPUs currently cost over $3,000 – but they claim it turned out to be a fake. Inside the 5090’s box was an RTX 4080, the Redditor tells us – nasty.
Remember how I mentioned those yellow stickers being put on online returns? Well, as other scams at major online retailers show, what can, in theory, happen is that someone buys the RTX 5090, replaces it with another GPU, like a 4080, and returns the RTX 5090 to the store, keeping Blackwell’s flagship. If the retailer’s staff does not properly verify the return, it could end up with a CVP sticker in the clearance aisle, as appears to have happened in this reported incident.
As always, with any high-value tech product these days, it doesn’t hurt to film the unboxing of the item just to have evidence to support your case if it comes to solving a potential problem like this. This generally applies more to online purchases, mind you, and not those made in a physical store.
One last point: why all these great deals on PNY graphics cards, you might ask? I don’t have an answer to that.
