Amy claimed that the (mostly one-sided) 20-year conflict with Simpson began when she was dying to meet the singer in 2008/2009. She remembers that while visiting Dale at the Daytona International Speedway in Florida, she told her then-boyfriend, now-husband, Dale, to introduce them.

The racing driver advised against it, however, and played a video of the singer revealing in an interview that she had dreamed that she and Dale were getting married in a treehouse.

Amy, who had felt drawn to Simpson because of her Texas roots and age range, immediately drew the line and decided not to see the singer or buy anything she was selling. According to her, in the latest episode of her podcast “Bless Your ‘Hardt”:

Simpson didn’t get along with Dale, but she found a fiery romance with her ex-husband, Nick Lachey, after they met on tour in 1999.

As Page Six noted, Simpson and Lachey married three years later and introduced the world to their behind-the-scenes lives on their MTV reality show, which only lasted three seasons.

Unfortunately, the couple separated in 2005 and finalized their divorce in 2006, after which Simpson reportedly left Adam Levine, but the relationship didn’t work out.

The singer found love again with John Mayer in 2006, but she revealed in her memoir that they went in circles in the toxic relationship and broke up nine times.

Simpson became interested in the NFL and hit it off with Tony Romo in 2007, but that romance lasted just two years before the athlete dumped Simpson on the eve of her 29th birthday.

The fashion designer then began dating her second husband, Eric Johnson, in 2010, while he was finalizing his divorce from Keri D’Angelo.

Simpson and Johnson married in 2014 and welcomed three children together. They announced their separation 11 years later in 2025, with the actress revealing they were living separately but were focusing on their children.

As the media personality explained in her statement, things have remained cordial between her and Johnson as they navigate their separation. Interestingly, The Blast shared that speculation has emerged that the silence from their neighborhoods could be a sign of reconciliation.

Simpson’s father, Joe, weighed in on the situation, refusing to confirm or deny these reports, while stating that the choice was ultimately up to the singer and Johnson.

However, he said his ex-son-in-law would always be part of the family despite the uncertainty surrounding his marriage to his daughter.

Joe noted that Johnson was welcome to spend Christmas with family, after spending a lovely Thanksgiving holiday with the fashion designer and their children.

Simpson didn’t let his failed marriage taint his thoughts on love; If anything, the singer is ready to enter the dating world with more caution. According to her, the dating field has transformed over the years into a more vicious space, and she can only count on finding love through a more traditional path, where the introduction is done manually.

Simpson stressed that she wouldn’t mind getting help from a friend in finding the new love of her life. The TV star strengthened her position when she shut down reports that she was appearing on “The Bachelorette” to find love.

The mother of three overcame her alcohol addiction eight years ago, and every year since then she is reminded of her growth. Last year, The Blast noted that she revealed that giving up alcohol nearly a decade ago was in line with God’s plan for her life.

“Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams, and chased away my fears of complacency,” she noted. Since quitting smoking, the star said she has become a level-headed person who approaches life with faith rather than fear.

The star added that when she was at a crossroads between these two dominant themes in her life journey, she stayed true to the faith, and it ultimately paid off.
