A Wonder/Star Wars the crossover could finally become a reality. While rumors continue to swirl that Marvel Comics is finally going to pull the trigger, it’s actually quite remarkable that the combination of the Marvel Universe and the Star Wars galaxy hasn’t been done before.

First reported by Fresh bleedingrumor has it that comic book legend Mark Millar might be working on a Marvel/Star Wars crossover event in secret. Here’s why something like non-canon Star Wars vs. Avengers the crossover actually makes perfect sense.

A Marvel/Star Wars crossover has been the subject of numerous rumors from Mark Millar

Before ComicsPRO next week (where Marvel and DC’s recent crossover comics were first announced), A major announcement is rumored to be in the works for a Star Wars/Marvel crossing of Mark Millar (Civil War, Kingsman, Kick-Ass).

Considering Disney owns both franchises and Marvel has released canon versions Star Wars comics since 2015, it’s honestly surprising that this hasn’t happened already, and the possibilities are incredibly exciting.

Imagine Iron Man facing Darth Vader, or lightsabers opposed to Captain America’s shield. Would certain heroes like Spider-Man turn out to be sensitive to the Force? Even smaller characters like Jeff the Land Shark meeting Grogu could be a lot of fun. Additionally, Marvel Comics has proven its ability to deliver compelling crossover stories beyond just throwing the toy boxes together.

Why a Marvel/Star Wars crossover can work (established history)

Without a doubt, a Marvel/Star Wars the crossover would naturally exist outside of the respective canons of the two universes. Plus, Marvel has already proven its ability to pull off excellent non-canon crossovers with other properties (and not just DC Comics).

Recent crossovers include Godzilla, Planet of the Apes, Strangerand the Predator franchise. Jonathan Hickman Aliens vs. Avengers notably showed how epic and fascinating these events can be. As such, something along the same lines coming from Millar could be absolutely fascinating.

Some other good reasons: A Marvel/Star Wars The crossover will likely generate a whole wave of new readers, while giving Marvel Comics a whole new Star Wars project to be released (their current flagship product Star Wars the series is expected to end next week).

Last but not least, a Marvel/Star Wars the crossover would be hilarious and profitable The Legend of Patton Oswalt Parks and Recreation obstruction from 2013 where he proposed a crossover for the films (if you haven’t seen it, go watch it on YouTube). Time will tell if these rumors are true (but man, I hope they are).
