Why Mia Goth distanced herself from Shia LaBeouf

Shia La Beouf has never been far from controversy, but his latest arrest in New Orleans has shed new light on the personal struggles that dominate headlines.

Just days after he was released from prison following a drunken bar brawl, new details have emerged about his crumbling marriage to Mia Gothic.

According to a source close to the couple, Goth quietly ended their relationship months ago, citing LaBeouf’s erratic behavior and constant arguments as the breaking point.

When Shia LaBeouf walked out of New Orleans prison wearing the same clothes as the night before, there were no bodyguards, no officers and no signs of support.

The 39-year-old was arrested after a drunken bar fight that required paramedics to attend.

Instead of quietly retreating, he ran two miles back toward the heart of the Mardi Gras celebrations, beer in hand.

The disturbing scene follows what one source describes as a much deeper personal blow. According to our source, LaBeouf’s wife, Mia Goth, ended their tumultuous marriage five months ago.

The source explained that the “Frankenstein” actress made the decision herself.

“Mia broke up with him, because his behavior was erratic and she didn’t want to deal with him anymore because they were always fighting. It doesn’t look like they’ll get back together either,” they told the Daily Mail.

For LaBeouf, who once said Goth “saved” his life while in rehab in 2022, the loss appears to have hit hard.

Those close to the couple say the breakup was not sudden but was the result of long-standing tension.

Mia Goth met Shia LaBeouf in 2013 on the controversial film “Nymphomaniac.” They married in Las Vegas in 2016, divorced in 2018, reconciled two years later and welcomed their daughter Isabel in March 2022.

However, the actor’s personality reportedly made stability difficult. As a source puts it, “Shia is not the easiest person to be around. He is a very intense individual, very opinionated and goes to the beat of his own drum.”

The source explained that his friends, colleagues and lovers all seem to have difficulty dealing with him and staying with him for long.

At the same time, that intensity seems to be part of what attracts people.

“But that’s also a reason why they’re drawn to, or want to be in his presence, because he’s a very interesting, unique, very intellectual guy. He’s someone that people gravitate towards, so it’s a bit of a catch-22,” they added.

For Goth, however, motherhood seems to have changed her priorities.

In October, she reflected, noting that she didn’t have time to do “stupid things” like she did in the past, which she said “helped her a lot.”

LaBeouf’s struggles didn’t start with fame. Born in Los Angeles, he made his name at age 13 in Disney’s “Even Stevens,” but his childhood was marked by instability.

His father, Jeff, a Vietnam veteran, struggled with addiction and previously served time in prison. His mother Shayna separated from Jeff when LaBeouf was three years old.

The “Transformers” star said a lot of his troubles stemmed from childhood PTSD. At age nine, while living with his mother in Tujunga, he heard her rape next door, a trauma that haunted him.

His adult life was marked by multiple arrests, incidents of public drunkenness and racist diatribes. He clashed with Alec Baldwin during a Broadway production after allegedly harassing him during rehearsals.

Additionally, in 2020, former girlfriend FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit accusing him of abuse, although LaBeouf denied the allegations and a settlement was reached.

LaBeouf’s family feared this path

Shia LaBeouf’s father has long expressed his concern. After his altercation with Baldwin, Jeff moved to Costa Rica.

In 2019, he said: “All parents worry when their children are unwell. »

He acknowledged recognizing the trend, noting that when LaBeouf started getting in trouble, he hoped and prayed it would stop. Unfortunately, things have gotten worse.

Jeff revealed how scary his son’s behavior had become. He said: “A week before that he scared me. I said to him: ‘Please go away. Don’t hurt me.'”

Eventually, Jeff admitted he felt helpless. “You know, it’s not up to me. It’s more than I have the knowledge or ability to fix. Please God – if there is a God, and I believe there is – do whatever you do to help him,” he shared.

Reports suggest LaBeouf moved to New Orleans last year, a city where he has relatives.

During Mardi Gras, locals claimed he had “terrorized the town”, while one bouncer described him as “somewhat belligerent”.

Photos showed him hopping between bars, drinking heavily and taking selfies. At one point he was photographed shirtless on the ground after headbutting a partygoer.

The scenes were in stark contrast to the ambitious 21-year-old who graced the cover of Vanity Fair in 2007. At the time, he said he was determined not to waste his potential.

LaBeouf revealed that he doesn’t like going to clubs, adding that if he wanted to party, he would do it at home.

He admitted: “And to say that I never drank or smoked weed – coming from my family – is insane. ” However, he also warned: “I know what it feels like if you get out of control. »

After leaving prison this week, LaBeouf almost immediately returned to New Orleans bars, a cycle that insiders say eventually became too much for Goth to bear.
