Uber has agreed to acquire digital parking marketplace SpotHero in a move that expands Uber’s ambitions beyond ridesharing and delivery. The deal was announced Monday and is expected to close in the first half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
SpotHero allows drivers to reserve and pay for parking in advance, with coverage spanning more than 13,000 garages, parking lots and valet spots in more than 400 cities in the United States and Canada.
Uber said the company plans to integrate SpotHero’s parking services directly into its app, giving customers another option for planning trips that involve driving rather than a ride.
The acquisition is part of Uber’s broader push to become a one-stop transportation app. In recent years, the company has aggressively expanded into food delivery, grocery ordering, car rentals, courier services, ride-hailing integrations, and subscriptions through Uber One. Parking reservations can easily be consolidated into this ecosystem, which would be particularly useful for commuters, airport travelers and people attending large events.
For SpotHero, the deal provides access to Uber’s massive user base and deeper integration into daily trip planning. The company will continue to work with parking operators as its technology is integrated into Uber’s platform.
