Imagine open plains dotted with incredible wildlife, sunset bubbles in the bush – and just the right mix of romance, relaxation and adventure. The perfect recipe to celebrate love! Africa is renowned for its sumptuous hotels and lodges in breathtaking locations, discreet yet personalized service and delicious cuisine, all creating unforgettable memories – whether it’s a honeymoon, anniversary or simply a romantic getaway. Here are some stunning places across Africa to reignite the romance in your life…
Spa-fari at Mara Bushtops in Kenya You’d be hard-pressed to find a more romantic place in Kenya than Mara Bushtops. Not only is it home to ‘Africa’s Best Safari Spa’ (their Amani Spa has won this title several years in a row at the World Luxury Spa Awards), but the accommodation oozes romance, with gorgeous king-size beds and fabulous views from its private hot tub over a busy salt lick that attracts wildlife from miles around.
Couples can enjoy private bush breakfasts, a sunset sundowner with a campfire for two prepared by your Maasai guide – or even a hot air balloon safari, floating peacefully above the iconic Masai Mara at sunrise!
Bushtops is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary – and a new added value that every booking now enjoys at no extra cost is a private vehicle with a dedicated Maasai ranger and spotter for your stay, ensuring that your safari memories, whether at the Isaaten Private Game Reserve or in the Masai Mara National Park itself, can be enjoyed at your own pace for a little more ‘out of Africa’ romance!
February also falls in the low/green season where if you stay 3 nights you get 4 nights.th free night. This special offer is valid from now until June 30, 2026 and again from October 1 to December 20, 2026.
Night of a million stars on the Onguma Dream Cruiser Onguma is a pristine nature reserve located on the eastern edge of Etosha National Park in Namibia. It is owned and managed by Onguma Safari Camps, with a choice of 5 lodges to suit all tastes and budgets.
Couples with an adventurous spirit will love spending one of their nights on Onguma’s one-of-a-kind Dream Cruiser, in the middle of the wilderness, under a canopy of stars. A Land Cruiser has been custom transformed into a star bed – with all the comforts like a flush toilet with a view, a sink and shower below leading, via an internal ladder, to a magnificent upper deck with lounge and dining area and a lush four-poster bed draped in net! Enjoy a delicious picnic-style dinner and blow bubbles under the stars before bed. Couples can choose to close the canvas flaps if they wish – or enjoy 180-degree panoramic views of a water feature throughout the night, with that extra injection of adrenaline! (Spoor showed that a lion walked right past me to drink water the night I spent on it, but I unfortunately slept through it all!)
If you like your safari a little tamer, Onguma Camp Kala ticks all the boxes for a perfect safari! With just four elevated suites in total, Kala offers couples absolute privacy and exclusivity. Each suite has its own sala with chaise longue (or sleep under the stars), a beautiful terrace with choice of a wood-fired hot tub and cool plunge pool to suit your mood – and discreet butler service. There is also an on-site photography retreat, gym and spa room for relaxing and pampering between safaris, making it ideal for a long Valentine’s Day weekend, honeymoon or simply a romantic getaway.

Sunsets in Omaanda Zannier Hotels Omaanda is located just 30 minutes’ drive from Windhoek, the gateway to Namibia. It is nestled in a 22,000-acre private wildlife reserve, surrounded by beautiful grassy plains dotted with acacia trees. This boutique lodge features just 15 individual Owambo-style thatched and clay cabins, all offering breathtaking views and is known for its insanely beautiful sunsets! Certainly one of the most memorable I have ever experienced in 30 years of safaris! My personal favorite memory from my safaris in Mashatu? Those regular, adrenaline-pumping reminders from expert Mashatu guides to “Please hold on” as you climb or descend another steep bank in search of leopards and other wildlife! Just this memory makes me want to book a flight!
They are offering a romantic/Valentine’s Day special until March 31, 2026. If you book 2 nights or more, 1 person stays free.
