Honor’s V5 foldable phone only launched last summer, but the company is already back with its latest model. The V6 is another book-style foldable, and I managed to get my hands on it at Mobile World Congress 2026. It packs a ton of tech into an incredibly thin body for a foldable phone, and it’s expected to go on sale in the UK and Europe in the second half of the year. It will probably be available in summer, like its predecessor.
Honor has yet to announce pricing for the phone, but the previous V5 went on sale in the UK for the princely sum of £1,699. I certainly don’t expect the V6 to be any cheaper, but I hope it doesn’t see too big a price increase. Honor phones aren’t officially available in the US, but the price in the UK is around $2,285.
The 7.95-inch interior screen is bright and bold.
Andrew Lanxon/CNETSo, what do you get for your money? Well, design is where most of that money is spent. At just 8.75mm thick when closed, the V6 is one of the thinnest foldables on the market. It’s actually 0.05mm smaller than its predecessor, although you’ll probably never notice the difference. Unfolded, the phone is only 4.1mm thick, but it still feels sturdy during my hands-on time.
The hinge is solid, with satisfying resistance when you open and close it. Honor claims to have made the hinge from aerospace steel, making it 87% stronger than a car’s structural A-pillar. It’s also one of the first foldable phones rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance. This means that reading ebooks on a sandy beach or taking photos in the rain is no problem for this device. It’s rare for foldable devices to be this water resistant, as most hinge mechanisms are difficult to make waterproof.
I love this red and gold color. Vegan leather has a soft, tactile feel.

It’s hard to judge exactly how well this worked when I look at it briefly on a Barcelona street, but I certainly didn’t think the crease was too obvious in the sunlight. I’ll reserve judgment for when I can see it side-by-side against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold.
The phone runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, so expect stunning performance on par with other phones using the chip, including the OnePlus 15 and Xiaomi’s Leica Leitzphone. It also packs a 6,600mAh silicon-carbon battery that should give you enough juice to get you through a full day of use. Camera specifications include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It remains to be seen how well these images capture.
It’s a skinny thing.
Andrew Lanxon/CNETIt will run Android 16 at base and you can expect a whole host of built-in AI features, both from Honor and Google, such as Gemini Live and Circle to Search. It will also get deeper integration with Apple’s MacBooks, including the ability to use the phone as a second screen for your computer and drag-and-drop files between devices.
