If you thought Michael IrvinMiami’s iconic “belt to ass” celebration was disappearing after Miami’s championship hopes proved doomed, think again… because Hurricanes legend has it TMZ Sports he will do it after every game next season.
Irvin went viral throughout the ‘Canes’ playoff run this past campaign… where he would remove his prop from his waist and hit a water fountain with it to cement every Miami victory.
Despite how things went against the Indiana Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff finale, Irvin is already guaranteeing perfection in Coral Gables.
“We’ll have whatever schedule we have next year, we’ll be undefeated next year,” Irvin told us. “So get ready, you’re going to see a lot of butt belting. All year round next year!”
The Playmaker doesn’t limit punishment to college football either.
“And if the Cowboys come on board, I’ll go after the pros too.”
Speaking of Dallas… Irvin says he feels good about leading Team USA after recently breaking bread with head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Hall of Famer said they talked about offense, consistency and building on last year’s foundation — and he thinks the pieces are there.
“With George Pickens And Lamb CeeDeethis NFL is about scoring points, and they can do it,” Irvin said. “Fix this defense, and Dallas will be in this game very soon.”
Well, Irvin, 60, still looks like he could dress up on Saturdays and Sundays — and recently shared it he only gained 1 pound in retirement. So we tried to get him to reveal his secret to the fountain of youth.
“It’s that good old attitude, I guess, when they tell you black people don’t crack,” he joked. “But honestly, I believe in getting up and moving forward. Stay determined and motivated, and you will live well.”
Whether it’s Miami or Dallas…this belt stays buckled and ready.
