Troubles in the Middle East cripples global air travel and disrupts flight schedules for many carriers, leaving passengers stranded at foreign airports.
Airlines around the world have canceled flights after Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran in Operation Epic Fury.
Emirates has temporarily suspended operations to and from Dubai due to unrest in the region. It said it would resume operations for a “limited number” later on Monday and would give priority to customers who booked earlier.

Etihad said in a statement that all scheduled commercial flights to and from Abu Dhabi would remain suspended until 2 p.m. UAE time on March 4. The carrier said some “repositioning, cargo and repatriation flights may be operated with UAE authorities and subject to strict operational and security approvals.”

Both carriers urged passengers not to go to the airport unless informed by the airline.

American airlines such passengers traveling to, through or from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Amman, Jordan; Bahrain, Bahrain; Doha, Qatar; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Larnaca, Cyprus, can benefit from a waiver of amendment fees if they:

Delta Airlines canceled flights from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel, through March 8, and from Tel Aviv to JFK through March 9. The carrier said customers affected by flight cancellations would receive notifications. Customers scheduled to travel from February 28 to March 31 can reschedule their trip or cancel their reservation.

Customers who choose to cancel their reservation may receive a refund for the unstolen portion of their ticket through Delta’s website, or the unused value of the ticket will be issued as an electronic credit that can be used toward a new ticket.
The fare difference will be removed for passengers who rebook their trip no later than April 15, 2026, in the same cabin as originally booked. A fare difference may apply if the original booking class is not retained in the changed itinerary. If travel takes place after April 15, 2026, the airline said the change fee will be waived, but a fare difference may apply.

United Airlines canceled service from the United States to Dubai until March 4 and from the United States to Tel Aviv until March 6. The carrier has issued two waiver notices related to unrest in the Middle East.
Customers who purchased tickets for flights to or from Dubai or Tel Aviv on or before February 27, 2026 with original travel dates through March 7, 2026 can reschedule travel and will not be charged wave fees or fare differences.
However, the new flight must be a United flight departing between February 28 and March 15. Airlines have said tickets must be in the same cabin and between the same cities as originally booked.

Change fees will be waived for customers who booked a new trip after February 27, 2027 or to a different destination, although they may have to pay a fare difference. Travelers can receive a full refund if they cancel or don’t make the trip.
The second advisory covers Dubai and Tel Aviv as well as airports in Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Lebanon and Erbil, Iraq.
Customers who purchased tickets on or before February 28, 2026 with original travel dates between March 8 and March 31, 2026 can reschedule their travel without change fees or fare differences.
