Britney Spears’ recent arrest for drunk driving continues to make headlines, as details of the pop star’s arrest continue to be revealed.
The latest details involve reports that when Spears was stopped by the California Highway Patrol, an alleged unknown substance was found inside her vehicle.

According to TMZ, sources close to the investigation into Spears’ arrest told the outlet that in addition to being arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, officers also found an unknown substance inside her car.
According to the outlet, the source said the substance, which is currently being tested to determine what it is, will be part of his official arrest.
Spears will make her first court appearance for the drunk driving arrest on May 4.

911 call reveals Spears was swerving and speeding before arrest
In the 911 audio obtained by Page Six, a police officer can be heard saying that Spears was swerving from lane to lane and speeding while driving her black 2026 BMW convertible.
After witnessing his reckless conduct, the officer then requested that additional units be sent to the area.
According to the outlet, an EDR was also requested at the scene to identify the impaired driver, before a tow truck was called to tow Spears’ vehicle.

Spears was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving by California authorities
According to TMZ, on Wednesday, March 4, Britney Spears was arrested and taken into custody in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of drunk driving.
The pop star was arrested at 9:30 p.m. local time but was released in the early hours of March 5, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department inmate records.
Spears was also taken to the hospital after leaving the jail to have her blood alcohol level determined.
According to the outlet, initial reports indicated his blood alcohol level was around 0.06, which is below California’s legal limit for drunk driving.
Final confirmed test results have not been made public.

According to PEOPLE, a rep for Spears spoke out in a statement regarding the pop star’s arrest and denounced her actions.
“This is an unfortunate and completely inexcusable incident,” the spokesperson said. The statement continues, sharing Spears’ need to change her “long overdue” lifestyle.
“Britney will take the right steps and comply with the law and I hope this can be the first step in the long-awaited change that needs to happen in Britney’s life,” the spokesperson added. “I hope she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

“Her boys will be spending time with her,” the statement said, referring to Spears’ two sons, Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19. “Her loved ones will develop a long-needed plan to prepare her for health success.”
Britney Spears reportedly hemorrhaged money
According to the Daily Mail, an inside source told the outlet that Spears’ “heavy spending” was a major factor in her decision to sell her music catalog, while another source said it was because her once-lucrative music career was over.
“Everyone needs to be realistic about Britney’s future, including herself, so selling her catalog was a wise decision because she’s not going to return to music,” the source said.
Spears’ previous Las Vegas residency ran from 2013 to 2017, but since ending she has struggled financially, according to an insider.

“Without her Vegas gigs, she’s really suffering,” the source told the Daily Mail. “Those shows made her a fortune, but that unfortunately ended years ago. The best thing for her is to go back to Vegas to perform again and have a steady paycheck, but I don’t think she wants to work that hard.”
The singer’s last studio album was released 10 years ago and she hasn’t toured since 2017.
“Britney has a lot of money, but since she’s no longer making music, touring, or having a residency, only certain lucrative ventures are coming, like her perfume line or her book,” the source added.
