Every season is better than the last in a Stephen King-approved horror masterpiece

One approved by Stephen King horror The TV show, which ran for four seasons, promised to get better with each new episode. The show in question still boasts a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 96%, and it’s unfortunate that it was canceled before it could reach its natural conclusion.
Stephen King’s reviews of shows and movies don’t always match those of the general public. However, since he is the King of Horror, his seal of approval for horror movies and shows instantly gives them more credibility. To some extent, it even promises that audiences will find traces of compelling horror storytelling that defines some of his best works.
The horror author has nothing but positive things to say about a 7-year-old supernatural drama that seems to be aging incredibly well. Although the series had to end its run after four seasons and left many underlying story threads unresolved, it remains one of the best recent additions to the horror genre.
Maintaining an upward trajectory is no easy task for most television shows. Especially for those in the horror or supernatural genre, there comes a point after seasons 1 or 2 where they gradually start to stumble. Wronghowever, is a rare exception that just keeps getting better as it progresses. After initially following more of a “monster of the week” format, the series evolves into a more surreal exploration of modern horror.
It’s a fun series in Season 1, but it challenges network TV norms in Season 2 by relying more on its weird elements and adopting an experimental storytelling style. Evil also benefited greatly from the move from CBS (broadcast) to Paramount+ (streaming), which allowed it to feature more disturbing images and bizarre dark humor.
In more than one way, Wrong also reminiscent of a classic of the genre TV shows like The X Filesparticularly because of the dynamic between its main trio: Kristen (the skeptic), David (the believer) and Ben (the pragmatist). Speaking of characters, it even manages to give its supporting characters enough screen time and turn them into fan favorites.
The series also takes clever ways to modernize its horror elements and give them a more technophobic spin. Its unique ability to remain novel and even strangely accessible throughout its runtime makes it a unique addition to the horror genre. Unsurprisingly, Stephen King couldn’t help but praise the series (via Collider) by calling it “funny,” “spiritual,” And “very, very sharp.“
Unfortunately, despite being one of the best and most ambitious modern additions to the horror genre, Wrong was canceled after 4 seasons. Four seasons may seem like a lot these days, but the show had more stories to tell.
Evil didn’t deserve to be canceled after 4 seasons
Soon after Wrong was canceled, many fans of the series, including Stephen King, demanded its return. The series had arguably its best episode before being axed, and its season 4 still boasts a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%. Despite his success and all the campaign around his return, Wrong hasn’t had a second chance yet.
Considering the fact that less than a year has passed since the end of his last payment, Wrong might still have a chance to be picked up by a new network or streaming service. However, its future remains uncertain since most canceled shows are rarely brought back for renewal.
Since there is still time to save Wrongall horror fans need to come together and find out before it’s too late. Even if Wrong season 5 never sees the light of day, it’s essential viewing for anyone who can appreciate a horror series that never stops evolving and refuses to settle for its own formula.
