Mary Cosbyit’s the late son, Robert Cosby Jr.leaves the memory of a fiercely devoted son, a man of deep faith and his mother’s closest confidant.

A online obituary as the 23-year-old pulls back the curtain on the close-knit dynamic between the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star and her only child, depicting a deep bond.

“Robert loved his parents with fierce and unwavering devotion, and his mother was his closest confidante,” the tribute reads.

Although Robert’s loyalty to his family was at the forefront, the obituary makes it clear that his faith was fundamental. “His first and greatest love, however, was for God. Baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Spirit, he was cherished as the first son of the Temple of Faith Pentecostal churches.”

Faith Temple Pentecostal churches are of major importance in the Cosby family. Mary’s grandmother, Dr. Rosemary “Redmon” Cosbyfounded the church. After Rosemary’s death in 1997, Mary honored her grandmother’s request to marry Rosemary’s widower, Robert Cosby Sr.who is now a bishop.

According to the obituary, Robert Jr.’s faith “guided him throughout his life,” noting that he openly shared his victories and struggles. “He shared his journey – his triumphs and trials – with courage and sincerity, touching countless lives.”

The tribute states that shortly before his death, Robert Jr. told a cousin that he wanted to meet his great-grandmother, Rosemary…a spiritual matriarch whose legacy was an important part of his life.

We broke the story… Robert Jr. died on February 23. The cause of his death is still under investigation, but police responded to a possible overdose.
