Tamera Mowry Recalls Feud With Tia During ‘Hardest Transition Of My Life’

Actress Tamera Mowry opens with a quarrel with his twin sister, Tia Mowrya few years ago, after deciding to move in together. During her appearance on the “Barely Famous” podcast, Tamera recalled how their contentious dynamic at the time affected their relationship.

Tia and Tamera have been in the public eye since the ’90s after rising to fame in their sitcom “Sister, Sister.”

On the “Barely Famous” podcast, Tamera shared that although they are twins, the two butted heads during a specific part of their relationship.

“For years, my sister and I lived together,” Tamera said, calling it “one of the hardest transitions of my life.”

Tamera then explained why this time has been so difficult, citing several arguments from both men.

Tamera noted that living with her sister, Tia, was a little confusing at first. “I remember asking Tia, ‘Who the hell are you? Who is this?’ Then she said to me, “Well, who are you?” Because we are different,” Tamera said.

She explained that over time, she learned that the reason she and Tia clashed was their different personalities, stating that they were “evolving into these different human beings”.

Tamera, who shared the screen with her sister Tia in TV shows and movies, said they were so used to looking alike. However, living together forced them to realize that being different was their superpower.

“I remember we had this epiphany, we’re different. You’re the yin to my yang. We actually balance each other out,” Tamera said.

People thought there was drama between Tia and Tamera Mowry

Tamera’s comments came several months after the public believed she may have been on bad terms with Tia.

According to The Blast, Tia’s comments about Tamera during the first episode of her reality show, “My Next Act,” sparked the initial concern.

“I came into this world with a twin, and right after that I started a 22-year relationship, so I’ve never been alone in my life. It’s been quite a journey,” Tia said. “Being alone was the hardest part of my divorce,” she added. “It’s times like this that I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and that I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s just not where we are right now.”

Tamera seemingly fanned the flames after sharing that she didn’t even know Tia was filming an unscripted show. “Tia is living her life right now, and Tia is doing Tia,” Tamera said.

Tia denied rumors that she and Tamera had a fight

Tia pushed back on rumors of a feud with Tamera during a 2025 interview and clarified what she meant by her statements.

“The world is so used to seeing us all together, but at the end of the day, we all grow up. We all have our own families,” Tia said.

Tamera echoed this sentiment during her appearance on the podcast and added that even though their “busy” schedules sometimes keep them apart, they always try to stay connected.

Tamera recalls fighting to get paid quite early in her career

According to another report from The Blast, Tamera opened up about some of the challenges she and Tia faced earlier in their careers, particularly when it came to pay.

“We were 18 or 19 years old and [our mom] “She had done her research and she realized that there were certain people in the entertainment industry who were making more money, and she knew that my sister and I were putting in the time, the work, but not only that, we were being successful,” she said.

Tamera explained that her mother continued to motivate them during filming, stating, “She believed in us. And because of her, we saw this strength and we believed in ourselves.”

That belief ultimately paid off, Tamera said.

“And my sister and I became, at one point, one of the highest paid actresses on a pre-teen family show and that started with my mom and us knowing our worth and, again, speaking out about what we believe is right,” Tamera finished.
