Capcom Resident Evil Requiem was a huge success, with over five million copies sold in less than a week, making it the best-selling title in the beloved franchise – and luckily, Capcom is just getting started with this latest installment.

Resident Evil Requiem Director Koshi Nakanishi has confirmed that a mini-game is expected to arrive in May and that a new story expansion is currently in development. Further updates to improve performance and fix bugs should be expected soon, with photo mode to be implemented first.

Kennedy and pick up where the game’s ending left off. Frankly, there are still some unanswered questions regarding Leon’s potential significant other (based on the ring visible in the concept art and final scene) and the fate of the game’s other legacy characters.

Before revealing the secret to the story expansion, Nakanishi showed off several photos, the first of which poked fun at the fandom about Leon’s romantic fate, but perhaps also serving as a tease about what the story expansion might include.

“In this story we will delve deeper into the world of Requiem. We are working hard on it now. This will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope you look forward to it.”

While Elpis managed to cure Leon and will likely do the same for Sherry Birkin, there’s no word on the well-being of Jill Valentine or Claire Redfield, who are among the legacy cast members believed to still be infected with a strain of the T-virus via Raccoon City Syndrome.

We’ll have to wait a little longer for more details on what the story expansion will cover, but as for the mini-game DLC, it looks like Capcom is preparing a Mercenaries multiplayer game mode, or something similar to augment Requiemthe replay value.
