Hollywood Insiders Reveal Why Timothée Chalamet Lost the Award

For months, Chalamet seemed like the nominee most likely to win the coveted best actor award at the Oscars for his performance in “Marty Supreme.”
However, it was an emotional Michael B. Jordan who took home the award for his dual role in “Sinners.”
Insiders have now revealed why the 30-year-old actor walked away empty-handed, noting that his attitude was off-putting to the majority of voters.
Chalamet reportedly spoke to seven Academy voters in the lead-up to the film’s biggest night, but only one voted in favor.
“Timothée is incredibly talented,” one voter told Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop. “But it is very difficult.”
“Being on set with him is not a positive experience,” another voter said. “He’s arrogant.”
It appears that Chalamet left much to be desired during the campaign, as his allegedly difficult reputation quickly spread among other voters.
“He tried to control the PR and marketing strategy,” said one industry insider. “He’s a 30-year-old actor explaining to 50- and 60-year-old professionals how to do their jobs.”
“The more voters knew him, the less they liked him,” another source said. “There’s no love lost for Timmy.”
Some industry experts tried to blame his relationship with Jenner, as reports previously claimed he was trying to stay away from her, but one source suggested that had nothing to do with the actor’s Oscar loss.
“This has nothing to do with Kylie,” one voter said. “She’s actually more well-liked than him.”
Meanwhile, Jordan’s reputation speaks for itself as he seems to be more balanced and well-liked in the industry.
“Michael B. Jordan is the opposite,” one voter told the reporter. “Kind, polite, respectful – and everyone loves working with him. »
Timothée Chalamet made a controversial comment about opera and ballet

Chalamet’s absence from the Oscars follows his recent controversial comment about opera and ballet during a public conversation on CNN and Variety with Matthew McConaughey.
On the show, he was discussing stereotypes in the film industry, as well as the expectation that film actors defend the film industry when he said, “I don’t want to work in ballet, or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even if no one cares about it anymore.’ »
Several industry players, including Steven Spielberg, as well as famous ballerinas, spoke out against his comment.
Ballerina great Misty Copeland called his bluff, saying he invited her to promote “Marty Supreme” and told her that performing arts still have “enduring relevance in culture” even if they aren’t as “popular and part of pop culture as movies.” The United States Today.
“I think there’s a common misconception that when something is popular, it has more meaning or has more impact,” Copeland said. “There’s a reason why opera and ballet have been around for over 400 years, and I think when you have access and the opportunity to be a part of something like that, it can change your life.”
Actor was called ‘narrow-minded’ by top opera singer
Opera singer Isabel Leonard criticized the actor in the comments section of an Instagram video showing him giving the speech.
She said she was shocked that Chalamet would express “such ineloquent and narrow opinions about art” while considering himself an artist.
“Taking cheap shots at other artists says more in this interview than anything else he could say,” Leonard noted. “It shows a lot about his character.”
She added: “You don’t have to love all the arts, but only a weak person/artist feels the need to diminish, in fact, the VERY arts that would cause those who wish to slow down, to do just that,” Leonard added.
Body language expert says Timothée Chalamet was ‘pretty submissive’ to Kylie Jenner

During the awards ceremony, host Conan O’Brien referenced Chalamet’s comment, saying, “Security is extremely tight tonight. I just have to mention that. I’ve been told there are concerns about attacks from the opera and ballet communities.”
However, he seemed to have taken it in stride as he kept a smiling face while holding Jenner’s hand.
Body language expert James told the Daily Mail that he seemed “quite submissive” with the gesture, as Jenner “leaned over him protectively, displaying a warning, motherly-looking expression of her eyes as well as a tolerant, calm smile on her mouth.”
James also said that while Chalamet “opened his mouth wider in an expression of embarrassment and nodded slowly in a gesture of recognition and acceptance” as O’Brien continued his monologue, Jenner seemed “less comfortable, clenching and unclenching his hands before performing a very strange and loud clap, suggesting a desire to get the joke over with and move on.”
