If you looked at my calendar, you would see a lot more than meetings. You would see real architecture LOL. I really try to plan my time, instead of just filling it.
Each week starts from the top down: non-negotiables come in first. For me, it’s my meditation practice, my family, my movement, my outdoor walks, and my self-care. The workouts are daily because I feel like they are the foundation.
I am very intentional about the time I spend with my family. I try to organize all of this with Michael so that we are on the same page when it comes to movie nights and quality time.
The next step is the overall vision. Writing time, internal deadlines, team meetings and product launches. Then we build around it all by booking guests for the show.
Something that has worked well for me is creating transition buffers so as not to muddy the waters. AND I highly recommend adding driving time to your schedule.
And there’s LOTS of white space to think, to write, to chat, to have a margarita with a friend, to create. One thing people always ask me is why I read so much. It’s on my calendar for an hour every day, right before bed. I’ve made it a habit stack to stay consistent because it’s my favorite hobby.
Finally, I work closely with our executive assistant to make sure we’re zooming in and out, editing every day, and being strategic about what moves the needle and what just seems busy. I cut out anything non-essential AND I’m brutal about it.
All calendar content is specifically color coded so I can see at a glance where my energy is going. Nothing is random because I realized that everything is composed. It’s taken me years to refine my process and I feel like I’ve finally got it down to a science. Depending on the season, there are ebbs and flows.
Your life expands or contracts depending on how you allocate your hours. The calendar is not admin, it is YOUR power.

Framing things this way has really helped me free up time and attention for what matters most to my life and goals. If it’s not an instant yes, or something I would want to do in that moment, it’s usually a no.
