Certain 2023-2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles affected by recall Toyota recalls more than 73,000 hybrid vehicles due to a pedestrian warning sound problem, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Some 2023 to 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles are affected by the recall effort because they do not make a loud enough sound when reversing, making it more difficult for pedestrians to hear and increasing the risk of injury.
“Vehicles may not emit sufficient warning sounds to pedestrians when reversing,” the NTSB said in its statement.

“As such, these vehicles do not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 141, ‘Minimum Noise Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles,'” the agency continued.
In total, 73,528 vehicles are affected by the recallalthough only about 1% of them are likely to have this defect.

The recall numbers are 26TB08 and 26TA08.
Toyota dealers will update software on affected vehicles for free to fix pedestrian warning sounds.
