We would be completely in the dark about the possibility of a Venom game developed by Insomniac if it hadn’t been for a malicious data breach in December 2023. Now, assuming this still-unannounced game hasn’t been canned, fans of Insomniac Marvel’s Spider-Man games cling to the hope of seeing him one day.
On Xfans are expressing continued interest in the leaked Venom game, which has been officially discussed but not confirmed for development. No one can guess what Insomniac’s roster looks like, especially with their site live. Big Web the game would have been canceled, but a Venom game coming to fruition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2The third act symbiote invasion plot and Carnage side quest would be phenomenal for the franchise and highly anticipated by players.
Fans are hoping for a Venom game
Fans are eager for a Insomniac Venom game and hope to see it materialize through a public and official announcement. At this point, a Venom game would surely follow Marvel’s Wolverine sometime in 2027, with the potential to release alongside the PS6 as a flagship launch title like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales was.
The user worm states: “We must keep hope!” and, unfortunately, that’s all fans can do in the meantime. Until it’s confirmed that it’s canceled or nonexistent, however, players will likely be wondering when, and wherever, they might see it appear. Marvel’s Wolverine might make an appearance (in addition to a dedicated game inventory, perhaps) might also be somewhere this Venom game might appear as well.
Announcement from an Insomniac Wolverine the game came out of left field during the PlayStation Showcase 2021, where Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was announced with its own official teaser, suggesting that a Venom game reveal could hypothetically accompany a new Marvel’s Wolverine trailer somewhere.
Additionally, Insomniac narrative director Jon Paquette teased ahead of the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that the potential for a Venom spinoff game would be driven by what fans seemed to want most:
“We’re focusing on ‘Spider-Man 2’ and what we’re going to do is wait and see how the fans react. We’re going to listen to the fans and we’re going to ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?'”
However, given everything that has leaked from Insomniac and what the studio apparently has planned for the future, anticipation has understandably diminished for a Venom game as it seems more and more unrealistic. If Marvel’s Wolverine is truly a precursor of a X-Men Set GameInsomniac may be slowly moving from one corner of the Marvel mythology to another.
An Insomniac Venom game makes a lot of sense
As the aptly named user We Want a Venom Game writes: “Insomniac is sitting on gold.” Indeed, the thought of Venom is playable Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sequence to be stretched out on itself Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles MoralesThe semi-suite is enticing.
This seems like a no-brainer for Insomniac, and we hope it is. Anyway, Marvel’s Wolverine already looks extremely impressive as a surprising pivot for Insomniac, and the studio’s future slate will likely be just as incredible with or without one Venom game.
