A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing his parents and wounding four others in a mass shooting in southern Spain, police said.
Authorities said the shooting was reported at 11:00 p.m. local time (10:00 p.m. BST) on Monday in the small town of El Ejido, near Almería.
Four other people, including two children, were seriously injured and taken to hospital.
One of them is believed to be the suspect’s seven-month-old son, according to local media.
The identities of the suspect and victims have not been officially released by Spanish authorities.
Local media say the other injured child is an 18-month-old baby, while a 60-year-old man is also believed to be among those injured in the attack.
The suspect was briefly on the run before going to a local police station, according to Europa Press.
The Guardia Civil said it was investigating the attack and trying to establish a possible motive for the shooting.
Mass shootings in Spain are relatively rare: according to Project Insight, which tracks gun crime in Europe, four were recorded between 2000 and 2023.
