Xi welcomes Putin to Beijing, hails China’s ‘unyielding’ ties with Russia

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin to Beijing on Wednesday, at the start of a visit focused on energy security. While Xi hails his country’s “unwavering” ties with Russia, Putin hails the “unprecedented level” of bilateral cooperation despite “adverse external factors”, without mentioning third countries.
