virtual telehealth care

Teladoc Health services are now available through Walmart’s Better Care Services platform, the companies announcement THURSDAY.

Through Walmart Better Care Services, customers can compare and access virtual care services from a variety of telehealth providers, such as Included Health, Curai and Wheel Health.

Now, customers can also receive care from Teladoc Health through the Walmart platform for a cash price of $89 per visit. This includes 24/7 care for common conditions such as sinus infections, pink eye, and cold and flu symptoms. Additionally, they can access dermatological treatments and connect with a registered dietitian for nutritional advice. This is beneficial for those who are uninsured, although it is also available to those who are insured, according to the announcement.

If a patient needs a prescription, it can be sent to a pharmacy, including Walmart.

“Millions of Americans already turn to Walmart for their everyday health and wellness needs,” Kelly Bliss, president of the U.S. Health Group at Teladoc Health, said in an email. “At Teladoc, we also serve millions of Americans, with the largest national network of virtual care providers. This partnership creates a new touchpoint, integrating our trusted clinical network and services directly into the Walmart experience. With the scale and reach of both brands, together we are creating a more accessible care journey.”

The partnership with Teladoc allows Walmart to offer consumers more choices for their care.

“Health care should be easier to access, easier to understand and more affordable,” Leslie Fletcher, vice president of strategy and partnerships at Walmart US Health & Wellness, said in a statement. “By adding Teladoc Health, we continue to expand Better Care services with more care options, combined with quick and convenient access to everyday health needs and prescriptions. »

The announcement comes after BetterHelp, Teladoc’s mental health subsidiary, joined Walmart’s Better Care Services platform in January. With BetterHelp, consumers can access therapy and support for depression and anxiety.

Teladoc is also part of Amazon’s Health Benefits Connector program for cardiometabolic support. The Health Benefits Connector connects people with digital health companies outside of Amazon that are covered by their employer.

By working with Walmart, Teladoc hopes to eventually reach people who would otherwise struggle to access care, Bliss said.
“Once a member is engaged, we have the ability to connect them to the full range of services available to meet their health needs over time. Our goal is to meet people where they are already making health decisions, to make it easier for them to access high-quality care,” Bliss said.
