Norton announced a major upgrade to its VPN service that significantly expands its server network, as well as a new privacy tool that swaps IP addresses on the fly.
The Norton VPN server network now includes over 130 locations in over 90 countries. This includes 25 new locations across America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, perfect for users looking for a faster connection or looking to bypass geo-blocking.
In addition to the increased number of servers, Norton added manual IP address rotation to help users overcome temporary blocks from streaming services and websites. This feature allows you to instantly switch to a new virtual IP address on demand, without disconnecting your active VPN session.
More locations, more control
Until now, if a site blocked your VPN address, you usually had to disconnect, change servers, and wait for the connection to come back. Norton’s new approach removes this friction entirely.

“Expanding our IP rotation capabilities is a direct response to this. Users can now choose between automatic IP rotation, which refreshes their VPN IP every 30 seconds in the background, and our new manual IP rotation, which gives them the same control on demand.”

If you primarily use your smartphone or tablet to stay safe on public Wi-Fi, you’ll have to wait a little longer. Norton has confirmed that support for iOS and Android devices is currently “coming soon.”
