Be a PlayStation Plus the subscriber is a bit like playing roulette. When Sony announces the next batch of games coming to the PS Plus library each month, some months will be much better than others, while some selections will make you regret those expensive membership fees.
However, what members can expect is reliability, with Sony announcing and releasing monthly PlayStation Plus games on a strict schedule. On the last Wednesday of the month, the games arriving in the PS Plus library for the coming month will be revealed. Then, on the first Tuesday of the month, the aforementioned games will be released.
That being said, with previous years having been like clockwork for PlayStation Plus, it looks like those waiting for the next announcement on Wednesday, June 24 will be in for a shock following an unprecedented delay.
Simply put, since the last Wednesday in June falls on June 24, meaning gamers will have to expect a much longer wait than usual, Sony has decided to delay the upcoming PlayStation Plus announcement until July 1. As a result, selected games can then be added to the service on July 7.
It’s needlessly confusing, but all PS Plus subscribers should know that the first batch of July games will be added to the service on July 7, but until then, June PS Plus games are always available for download and play now. This includes the hit survival game Grounded: fully played edition, a perfect platform fighter for the kids in your life, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and the title of cooperative action Warhammer 40K: Oil Spill (not suitable for children).
At the time of writing, we don’t yet know which games will be added to the PlayStation Plus library for July 2026, but all will be revealed on July 1. While 2026 has some hits and misses when it comes to Sony’s selections, it remains to be seen which category July will fall into. However, we at least know that we won’t have to wait long for the games to be added to the library after their reveal earlier this month.
So if we get to June 24th and you’re concerned about the lack of PlayStation Plus updates, fear not, because the next big reveal is coming on July 1st before it launches on July 7th.
