Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia CEO Madeline Bell will retire Oct. 1 after nearly 40 years with the health system, including 11 years at the helm.

Layoffs
ADC Therapeutic is in the process of laying off 17% of its workforce. The job cuts follow a safety scare in the biotech company’s Phase 3 LOTIS-5 trial for its blood cancer drug Zynlonta, which reported more than two dozen participant deaths.

Missouri Health System MU Healthcare is in the process of laying off 74 employees — primarily in non-clinical and administrative roles — as part of a broader restructuring aimed at strengthening the long-term financial viability of the organization.
