To prepare for her role on “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” She says she joined OnlyFans for research.

The actress revealed during the SXSW Film & TV Festival that an account had been created for her and the show’s writers to better understand the platform her character enters in the Apple TV+ series.

Although Elle was already familiar with Instagram and TikTok, she said OnlyFans required a closer look because it works differently than more traditional social media platforms. The research helped her better understand the creator’s layout, tone, and environment that shape Margo’s world.

Dakota and Elle are also gearing up to play a major on-screen role in the upcoming TriStar drama “The Nightingale.”

The collaboration will mark the first time the sisters will face each other in a feature film, although both have spent most of their lives in Hollywood. The story is adapted from Kristin Hannah’s bestselling World War II novel and follows two sisters in Nazi-occupied France who are forced to survive the war in very different ways.

Dakota will play Vianne, the older sister who tries to protect her family under occupation, while Elle will play Isabelle, the younger and more rebellious sister drawn into the resistance.

The older sister later told Deadline that sharing the screen with Elle quickly erased any nerves they had and made their long-awaited collaboration feel deeply familiar.

“Working with Elle was as wonderful as I expected,” she said. “And any nerves we had were gone within minutes of being on set for our first scene together. It was like we were little girls again playing in our playroom like we did our whole childhood. And it’s just something we’ll share forever.”

The upcoming romantic drama stars Dakota as Wendy, a woman whose relationship with her older, divorced boyfriend, Jack (Jake Johnson), begins to deteriorate when he demands space. This breakup becomes even more complicated when Wendy reconnects with her ex, Chuck (Cory Michael Smith), drawing him into a tense love triangle.

The project also gives Dakota a significant role behind the camera as the film’s producer.
