There were a lot of great Fantasy Finale games over the years, but arguably none are as underrated in 2026 as the tenth mainline release in the series. The story and world-building are particularly exceptional, even if some major moments are a little let down by dubbing that doesn’t necessarily fit the tone.
The linear nature of the game also divided the player base a bit at the time, but returning to it today is actually a nice change of pace. As such, it’s always nice to see it return in any form, and a new release brings it to an entirely new medium for the first time.
As first reported by the RPG site, Final Fantasy X is currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of its beginnings and, in this context, Square-Enix has confirmed the release of FINAL FANTASY X – House Grooves. The 12-track album brings the old soundtrack back to life with plenty of new bells and whistles, with the publisher sharing a preview of what fans can expect:

There are also a ton of different artists this time around, all putting their own spin on the game’s classic music. The full list of these is as follows:

This is not the only release to mark the occasion either, the big news is undoubtedly the arrival of the FINAL FANTASY X-2 HD Remastered on the Nintendo Switch 2. This launches digitally tomorrow (July 23), with a physical version with special cover art expected to arrive about a month later on August 27.
Beyond that, there’s still more than enough to keep fans of the franchise excited, with the final part of the remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Reveal scheduled for release in spring 2027. This will mark the end of a major journey for Square Enix, bringing one of the best games in the series back to life, so it will be interesting to see what they do next.
